Human history is linearly progressive, and virtual utopia is possible. 3. Human history is cyclical, and utopia is not possible.
Emotion is more important than reason. 4. Reason is more important than emotion.
An action's moral worth is determined by its intent. 5. An action's moral worth is often determined by its outcome.
Humans are born as a tabula rasa, a blank slate, and generally shaped by the environment. 6. Humans are born with a nature which is generally independent of the environment.
All cultures are of equal worth. 7. Some cultures are of greater or lesser worth than others.
Government regulation is generally a better way to distribute wealth. 8. Market forces are generally better ways to distibute wealth.
Human happiness is better achieved by a global centralization of power. 9. Human happiness is better achieved by national sovereignties built on constitutionally limited government.
All truth is relative. 10. Some truth is absolute.
